Pfronton/Neuschwanstein castle

We stayed at a ski slope...no snow but the lifts were running for scenic and hiking purposes...first gondola then chairlift. Beautiful place!
In the afternoon we went to the castle 6 miles from the hotel. Long walk up but we did it as well as tour the castle up several spiral staircases.  Still excessively beautiful! Walked down, too....
Weather 76..sunny....

Euerbach, Germany: ancestral home

We visited Herbert and Regina Weigand who are related to Kevin,Dennis whose grandmother's father Johann came to USA with their great grandfather, Franz who got homesick snd returned. There were actually 5 brothers. Herman and wife Gisela are descended from a sister. Herbert's 2daughters Christine single and Katia with husband Martin, and 3 children David, Sophia, and Samuel were there as well. We were entertained royally: we were taken for a tour by several family members and the mayor, Regina's brother!  Then, a feast was prepared by Regina and family.  We had a blast and were honored to be with them!  We visited the church where Johann was baptized. The family tree was updated.
