Grand Canyon of PA nr Wellsboro

Got there at 11 or so due to early fog. Leaves are beautiful...could have been more reds! A bus full of walker users arrived and we pleasantly surprised that could easily access the spectacular views with a terrific patio. It did go down a few levels for those of us able. Had a maple hot dog for lunch. Went from w

East rim and later west rim. Took a walk to turnaround point! Read for awhile at park. Nice day!!!

10/7 Bradford PA to Wellsboro PA

Scenic drive on route 6 . Took a lovely walk around a lake then stopped in Smethtown for lunch and visit to Jail Museum believe it or not. Drove south on Rt 44 for over 50 miles  s.e. to rt 287 and up to Wellsboro. Nice day with sun for a change!

Niagara to USA 10/6/15

Drove around Niagara River Drive which had nice houses to Ft Erie where we toured the Ft and saw the details in a movie of a fruitless battle US/ Brits in war of 1812. Interesting though. Took Peace Bridge back to good ole USA with 15 min wait. Drove on 219 stopping at Branford PA for stop at Zippo lighter museum and stopped for the night in this college town with Beefeater restaurant on a former library.

10/5 Hamilton to Niagara

Drove into the escarpment going thru Hamilton.. Saw no waterfalls which they have many of. On to the beautiful Niagara on the Lake.. Had lunch there and a nice walk then to the Falls. Spent time there for quite awhile then went up to Skylon Tower for a wonderful view and good buffet. Stayed at cheap but good Rodeway Inn.

10/4/15 Detroit to Canada

We drove to Greektown Detroit which has restaurants, a nice RC church and a casino. We drove north to a town on Lake Huron them back to the bridge. Ended up in Hamilton with a nice Portugese dinner at Ventura.

10/3 Detroit

Spent the day in the Detroit Institute of Art. Lots to see including court devoted to Diego Rivera who painted these works in situ in the 30s. Ate at the Whitney, an old mansion then on to the Fisher Concert Hall for some Gershwin and Wagner. Taxi back as we had taken hotel van there. A very nice day despite precip...we walked to restaurant and hall inthe mist but that was ok.
