Last day Copacabana....went to Flamenco...museum closed but nice walk around Lago with views of Sugarloaf and Corcovado then back to Copacabana beach...i had not been in the water and Kevin found some soccer pals! I posed under the Christ the redeemer statue. We relaxed at pool and on to lite dinner and walk on beach. I love the place!
Slept til 2 so ready for another great night! We had been in section 7 on Sun. with the Brazilians who knew the songs and had a lot of spirit even with the rain. Section 9 with many American tourists just wasn't the same although the 80 year old guy with the mohawk wig was entertaining! We were at the top this time in a reserved seat.Thankfully no rain! Again a spectacular show...we stayed for 4 & left via subway thru mobs of fellow revelers.Great experience!
We arrived at the Sambadrome at 6:45 and got good seats. Within a half hour we were in the middle of a major downpour which did not let up for hours! It did not dampen the spirit of Rio Carnival2015 which was infull swing by 9:30....each samba school has their own song which they sing as they dance and proceed up the sambadrome for about 1 hour per group. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! We return to nite!
After a nap we went out to 34 degree C. weather to the beach...more people to come, I am sure
