3/6 Prescott to Vegas

Windy but pretty..stopped on Rt 66 and a few other pretty spots

3/4-6

Went to Tempe stopping at a Nature Conservancy site on the way. After a great stop with Neil and Annie, we went to Prescott known for western decor and Watson Lake.

Another nice day in Patagonia with lots of hummingbirds and lovely scenery..lovely B&b Duquene and close to a dark area where we could view the stars. Back to Tucson to a nice Best Western with a pool and museum on 3/3. Photos taken at Tucson Museum of Art. Even birdwatched at Sweetwater on 3/4!

2/29 up early to Patagonia

Drove to Patagonia Lake for some great birding especially of note the elegant trogon which I did not have my camera out for but was so close, I could have snapped same photo as these 2 guys helped us find it and we with them 30 minutes. This was also a very pretty place! Photos of trogon off google...

2/28 more birding in Sierra Vista

Took a bird walk with a guide and group at sewage treatment plant where there are ponds. Actually saw over 50 species while there! Attempted to go to Ramsey Canyon which was closing. Next time! Note the little fish in the middle of the foliage it is a spy balloon tracking illegal activity.

2/27 Chiricahua National Monument

Drove to the East to Wilcox and south. Hiked a bit and saw bridled titmouse a very pretty little bird. Drove over to Sierra Vista thru Tombstone where we did not stop. Great birding there on Sat the 27th and it is very pretty there. Got a pretty new shirt!

2/24 to Kitts Peak and Tucson Rodeo

We stopped at Kitts Peak observatory for a nice tour..they have students from many universities there including LI Stony Brook. No photos... On to Tucson to get tickets for the hokey rodeo parade and the very entertaining rodeo. Up early to get to parade grounds by 7. Several groups played and sang while we waited and there was even a shoot out! Fun day!
