Took a ride to Exclusive Papagano peninsula and ended up at this marina..fish tacos were yummy and had ceviche on the beach later!
We arrived in time for a swim in the Pacific...a first for all of us! We ate at a restaurant on the beach, roberto's with a nice ceviche and pasta with seafood. Hotel room is a suite with kitchen area. All rooms are on a hill but jitney service very frequent. Several pools and a restaurant present, too.Strange name: Condovac!

4/24-25 Arenal Volcano area

Woke up for a 6am bird walk with Bernardo at the Hanging Bridges. Saw a chestnut sided warbler, ovenbird, monkeys, and hummer on leaf nest. Crossed lots of bridges. Lots of fun and exercise!  Relaxed at hotel with view then took a walk closer to Arenal Volcano. Checked into another hotel, Arenal Oasis then dinner and hot springs.
Next day, bird walk at hotel with Gabriel..lots of birds. Drove to beach a 3 hour trip stopping at a German "bakery" for bratwurst and schnitzel! Nice drive with views of Lake Arenal!

Jorge bird guide took us out on grounds the next day...great birds seen! Bijapur nearest town.. Drove to Arenal to another waterfall...705 steps! Arenal Lodge was a long ride to the top of a mountain with perfect view of the volcano except when clouds came in!

Monteverde Cloud Forest 4/28to 5/1

Spent 3 nights in Monteverde at a lovely hotel with nice grounds.Saw the quetzal the first day on a nature walk. The next day we hired a guide who showed us the three wattled bell bird an interesting fellow! Google him! We saw lots of great birds and were able to relax before and after our arduous journey on terrible roads. Probably worth it!

5/1-5/2 2016 Palo Verde And Tempesque River

Nice boat ride..we were alone as we were at this lodging used by school of tropical studies in 1 hour from Bagaces on a bumpy road! Lots of birds to see as well as monkeys coatis, and crocs! The water lilies were pretty!
